The Novelsisterhood Challenge

There was a challenge issued by the Novel sisterhood. I am glad to say it has reopened my brain and now I can't stop. The story of "The four-legged Trio" is well underway. I am so excited as the story is virtually writing itself. In the middle of the night last night I had to get up and peck away.
As the characters grow, and the lines keep going, I am delighted at the results.
My husband reads the story quite often and I am pleased to say I often find him chuckling, something unusual for him. Don't get me wrong, he laughs but usually he has suggestions, or just nods. This time he is more supportive than he has been in the past.
My poetry has been a major part of our marriage, his pride in it is complete, (I believe with all my heart though he is just slightly prejudiced)
The story is going well and with the Novel Sisterhoods help I don't see the book taking very long. Keep checking back. I plan on putting an except on Monday.

My three Muttscateers

I know the spelling is off and this won't be the real title. Please allow me to give you a glimpse into the children's stories I have planned. there will be three dogs, all from an unloved place. since these books will be geared toward the preschool to second grade level the "pound" will NEVER be mentioned.
These three dogs, will be bestowed upon with magical powers to help children banish their fears. The first story will be an introduction of the characters in the series and an adventure to help out a neighborhood child named Sandy who is plagued with nightmares by SOME VERY MEAN, TERRIBLE cats!
Each book will try to deal with some of the common fears children have and how the dynamic canines cope with the child's Nemesis. Of course also in the books you will find the loving and caring of the dogs themselves as well as their endearing characters they truly are. The occasional being caught by the owner hiding those mysterious missing socks from the dryer will be dealt with as well as other antics brought to life.

PLEASE CHECK BACK AS i WILL BE POSTING EXCERPTS ON THIS PAGE AND WATCHING CLOSELY FOR ANY INPUT, ADMONISHMENT AND IDEAS.

The idea for the books came from the love and soothing ability my own animals have had on me. I have heard stories from many other pet owners as well. I believe these books will have the effect of showing a child that certain fears can be dealt with, they just need a little magic animal to show them the way!

If you have any ideas you would like to share at this point, or stories of animals which should be recognized, please feel free to leave a little feedback here.

A SEQUEL CHILDRENS STORY

Due to a certain fear that my grandson has, for the last year or so, I have been flirting with writhing a children's book. Actually a series of books. which provide both fun and adventure and help kids deal with some of the more common fears.

My first story will be to introduce the characters and then to approach each fear with the characters making it easy to dispel the problem many children have with common things, like dogs, cats, water, clowns.

As I said, I've been flirting with this idea for quite a while, until LAST NIGHT!

I was having one of those nights when sleeping is just a name for having your eyes closed while you sit upright in bed! Suddenly, all the characters, and many of the plots were laid out into my head ALL AT ONCE!

I have managed to figure out some of the things that children cope with though terrified, but could use some input as to other things either you or your children, or your grandchildren deal with. These ideas would help in not only research, but may end up as a book for them to cope with as well.

So I am asking that you let me know what it is that scares your kids and yourself. ASK others as well to stop by and have a little input.

I know I would appreciate it.

Spring

Ah, with so much beautiful weather outside, it's inspiring.

I can just feel that somewhere between the blossoms on my fruit trees and the birds singing that ANY moment now, I could break out in a show tune. NOT, but sounds good doesn't it?

I do find the weather we've been experiencing in Southern Indiana inspiring. Somewhere between hearing kids playing outside, the smell of fresh grass clippings, the blink images of rabbits and squirrels, many of the stories I've conjured over the winter months are given color.

So in the next few weeks I plan on trying to "HACK" out a few of the more complete thoughts. I will try to post excerpts here and there, just for good measure and feedback.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD

CREATIVITY IS A PLACE WE ALL SHOULD RESIDE WITH. AS A WRITER FOR MOST OF MY LIFE, CREATIVITY HAS BEEN A SOURCE OF FUN, LOVE, EXCITEMENT, AND HONOR.

EACH ASPECT OF MY LIFE HAS HAD ONE SOURCE OF CREATIVITY IN IT. WHETHER IT WAS WRITING STORIES, POETRY, PHOTOGRAOHY AND A BIT OF DABBLING IN CRAFTING.

AS LIFE HAS TOSSED ME CURVES, FOR SOME REASON I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LOOK AT IT FROM THE ASPECT OF HOW CAN I EXPLAIN THIS TO OTHER SO THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO BE HERE.

SOOO.

HERE WE GO. THIS IS WHERE I PLAN ON SHARING MY WRITING, MY WORKS IN PROGRESS (WIP), AND RANDOM THOUGHTS WHICH SHARE MY SOUL AND THOUGHTS.
